Bengal's loss, Uttarakhand's gain?
Dehra Dun, Sep 4 (UNI) The Uttarakhand Government has reiterated its willingness to offer all possible assistance to Tata Motors if it wanted to relocate the Nano operations.
Talks are on among officials of the Uttarakhand Government and the company to consider shifting facilities to Pantnagar where it is already manufacturing its Ace trucks.
Chief Minister B C Khanduri has directed his officials to resolve all outstanding issues with the company and said his government had agreed to allot 50 acres of more land at its Pantnagar industrial estate but a final decision on this is yet to be taken.
Talking to newspersons yesterday, Mr Khanduri said his government was ready to roll out the red carpet for the company, but as it had only suspended its operations in Singur, the question of choosing a final base was still early to comment on.
Tata Motors is seeking 100 acres of land for housing and has demanded that the lease rent for its 1000 acres industrial plot at Pantnagar be lowered from the existing rate.
