Bandh in Raichur over burning of Ganesh pandals

Bangalore, Sep 4 (UNI) A total bandh was observed in Raichur today in protest against the burning of Ganesh pandals.

According to police, four Ganesh pandals erected as part of the festival were set on fire by miscreants in various parts of the city last night.

The bandh was called by the locals, demanding arrest of the miscreants.

Shops and business establishments remained closed. Vehicles did not ply on the road as part of the voluntary bandh.

Police resorted to a mild lathicharge to quell an irate mob.
