Warm weather prevails in Delhi, mercury rises to 36.4 Deg C
New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) Warm and humid weather today prevailed in Delhi for the third consecutive day with the mercury rising to 36.4 degrees celsius.
With the sun shining clear and bright in the sky and humidity remaining at a high level of 86 per cent, the maximum rose, from 36 degrees celsius yesterday, to 36.4 Degrees , two degrees above normal.
For the third consecutive day, the piercing heat of the sun kept most Delhiites indoors in the airconditioned comfort of their homes or offices even though cool North Westerly winds maintained some relief from the heat and humidity.
The minimum was recorded one degree above normal at 26.6 Degrees .
Some respite from heat and humidity is expected in the coming days with weathermen forecasting a likelihood of some rain and thundershowers in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India towards the weekend under the influence of a Westerly trough.
''Numerical weather prediction models indicate a mid-latitude Westerly trough is likely to affect parts of Northwest India during September 5-7,''the Met office said.
''Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity is likely over parts of Northwest India from September 6 onwards,''the Met office added.
The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
