Sukhbir Badal reviews organisational setup of SAD

Chandigarh, Sep 3 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Sukhbir Singh Badal has issued directions to all the district presidents of the party and heads of its different wings to complete proposals regarding organisational setup of the party upto circle level and send these proposals be the party head office at the earliest.

Addressing a party meeting here today, he said that while finalising district level organisational setup of the party, it should be ensured that veteran leaders having track record of selfless service and sacrifice, be given due representation.

Besides this, instructions were also given that due representation may also be given to all the sections of the society.

While addressing the meeting, SAD general secrtary Balwinder Singh Bhunder stressed on discipline in the party at all levels.

On the advise of party secretary, Daljit Singh Cheema the meeting adopted a resolution appreciating the decision of the Punjab Government making Punjabi a compulsory subject upto matric level in all schools and introduction of Punjabi in Government offices for official work.

A resolution was also passed expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for lying the foundation stone of the 1980 MW thermal plant at Talwandi Sabo and termed this event as a milestone in the field of power generation.

Mr Badal asked the party rank and file to prepare themselves for the next Lok Sabha polls.

Tributes were paid in this meeting to CPM leader, the late Harkishan Singh Surjit, Baba Santa Singh, Jaswant Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr Kewal Krishan, Bhai Davinder Singh Sidhu, singer Ishmeet Singh and theater artist Bhag Singh. Tributes were also paid to the pilgrims who lost their lives while visiting Naina Devi Temple.
