Poonch-Rawalakote bus serive now weekly

Srinagar, Sep 3 (UNI) The trans-border bus service between Poonch in Jammu region with Rawalakote in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) will ply weekly instead of fortnightly from Monday.

An official spokesman said today that this information was given at a high level meeting chaired by Governor N N Vohra here last evening.

He said the frequency of the passenger service on the Poonch- Rawalakote Road in Jammu and Kashmir had been increased and fixed at a weekly basis.

The new arrangement would start from September 8.

The bus service was flagged off by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on June 20, 2006.

This was the second trans-border bus after Karwae-e-Aman which was flagged off by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on April 7, 2005.
