IT professionals take out procession favouring industrialisation
Kolkata, Sep 3 (UNI) With the Singur effect permeating through society, hundreds of Information Technology professionals took out a procession in the city today in favour of industrialisation in the state.
Professionals working in the IT hub of Salt Lake sector five brought out the silent procession also in protest against the insult meted out to them during a visit to Singur earlier in the day.
Town Hall - a Kolkata-based organisation of IT professionals, engineers and teachers - tried to meet Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee at Singur but were allegedly threatened by Trinamool leaders.
Ms Banerjee was spearheading an indefinite dharna near the Nano plant demanding that 400 of the 997 acre of the project site be returned to farmers.
