Ganesha Chaturthi celebrated in grand manner

Mysore, Sep 3 (UNI) Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebrated in grand manner in this city of Palaces by offering special poojas at the temples.

The special poojas has been organised across the city in all Ganesha temples particularly in 101 Ganesha temple where the people offered poojas all through the day.

The traditional, the modern and those symbolising current happenings - Ganesha idols of all kinds are flooding in city markets.

A few of the idols symbolise current happenings, reflection of the artisans creative instincts. Along with the traditional idols, there was one symbolising "operation kalama" the refers to the Bharatiya Janata Party governments efforts to woo MLAs from other partices.

One Ganesh holds a flag seeking classical language status for Kannada, while another makes a plea to save Mysore, however, the cynosure of all eyes was the giant Ganesha stayled after Srirangaswamy of Srirangapatana, recalling on a 'sesha (serpent gold) but none of these idols would make it to a devote persons home, as the preference was for the traditional that catch ganesh in a gentle and reflective mood.
