Ensure quick implementation of development works: UP govt
Lucknow, Sep 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh and Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta today directed officials to provide ex-gratia to the flood victims on priority basis.
Mr Singh and Mr Gupta passed directions, while reviewing the progress of the development works identified by Chief Minister Mayawati at a meet here.
The Cabinet Secretary asked the officials to prepare a large project to deal with the water-logging problem of the Gorakhpur city. To check the erosion caused by the river, he said survey should be conducted and action initiated so that the problem of erosion did not arise in future.
However, the Chief Secretary said the repair of the damaged roads due to heavy rains should be ensured by October 15 next. For it, circular should be issued to inform all the DMs and Divisional Commissioners about the amount issued for the purpose. Besides, the health department should remain alert to meet the challenge of outbreak of infectious diseases, whenever the water receded.
To prevent the spread of diseases the village health and Safai Samitis should be mobilised, Mr Gupta added.
All the works identified under Dr Ambedkar Gram Sabha Vikas Yojna should be completed within the set time limit as no laxity would be tolerated. Every homeless villager should be provided pattas for houses under this yojna. The job cards issues under the National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme (NAREGA) should remain with the beneficiary, else strict action would be initiated if the same was given to others.
With a view to disposing off public complaints quickly, the programme of Lokvani should be attached with Tehsil Diwas, besides making the Thana Diwas more effective. The construction works being done by different construction agencies should be taken seriously and the administrative wing of these agencies should complete construction works in a speedy manner after reviewing the works district and division-wise.
In the meeting, necessary directives were also issued pertaining to Ganga Express-way, tree plantation in Bundelkhand, NAREGA and revenue realisation works.
