NIMHANS to be made Centre of Excellence

Bangalore, Sep 2 (UNI) Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today assured that functional autonomy would be sanctioned to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences in the city after it was declared as a 'Centre of Excellence'.

Delivering the inaugural address at NIMHANS here, he said he would move a bill in this regard in the coming Lok Sabha session and administrative autonomy to the institute to bring it to global standards in providing health services.

Dr Anbumani also inaugurated additonal facilities like Silver Jubilee Emergency Services Block, Open Psychiatry Ward Block and Neuro-Psychiatry Rehabilitation Block built at a cost of Rs 15 crore.
