Liquor Baron Mallya lashes out on K'taka police on Discothec closure
Bangalore, Sep 2 (UNI) UB Group Chairman and former Rajya Sabha member Vijay Mallya disapproving the Karnataka police move to ban on discothec and night clubs operating beyond 2300 hours, today said that he will protest it.
Addressing a press conference after announcing the introduction of first-ever Bangalore-London Kingfisher airline non-stop service from tomorrow, Mr Mallya said that it will not augur well for any city which assumes Cosmopolitan status.
"I would rather sit on dharna to protest against linking law and order to the night clubs and discothecs" he said.
Stating that the decision of city police personnel on opening of night clubs beyond late hours has no 'reason behind' and said that when cities like Delhi. Kolkata and Mumbai have no problems why Bangalore as an exception. "In Spain, in fact, life starts after midnight" he said.
