Lalu to visit Nepal to solve flood menace in Bihar
Patna, Sep 2: Union Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav will visit Nepal to solve the flood menace in Bihar. He will discuss the matter with Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda and Presidebt Ram Baran Yadav.
After an extensive tour of the affected areas of North Bihar, Mr Prasad wrote a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, seeking his permission to allow him to visit Nepal for a viable and effective solution to the problem which had rendered lakhs of people homeless this year. Before his scheduled departure for New Delhi, Mr Prasad said hundreds of people were washed away in the current flood in Bihar.
Regarding his proposed Nepal tour, Mr Prasad said besides discussing the issue of Bihar floods with the Prime Minister, he would also call on President Pratibha Patil for a permanent solution to the problem.
Mr Prasad said the Centre had already taken up the matter with the Nepal government, adding that during his proposed tour, he would pursue the matter further.
The Railway Minister said Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jayprakash Narayan Yadav would also accompany him in the mission.
