Heavy rains likely in North-east, Karnataka, Lakshadweep

Pune, Sep 02 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Rains or thundershowers are also likely to occur at many places in Madhya Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, south Gujarat, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, north Gujarat state and Telangana.

The southwest monsoon has been active in Madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and south interior Karnataka, while it has been subdued in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Heavy rains occurred at most places in south interior Karnataka and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra.
