Goa govt warns against use of harmful chemicals for ripening

Panaji, Sep 2 (UNI) Goa government today warned of deterrent action against traders using harmful chemicals for ripening fruits in the state.

Health and agriculture minister Vishwajit Rane, during an official meeting here, directed the food and drugs administration to organise raids to check the incidence, which of late had been on rise in view of the festive season.

The minister along with concerned officials, including director of agriculture and managing director of the state horticulture corporation limited, reviewed the situation.
