Couple, 10-year-old daughter hacked to death in Punjab

Ferozpur, Sep 2 (UNI) A couple along with their 10-year old daughter were brutally hacked to death by unknown assailants in Dhingawali village near Abohar last night, police reports here today said.

According to police officials who visited the murder site, the assailants probably barged into the house when the family was asleep. They used sharp-edged weapons to murder the couple and their daughter.

Police officials said each of the three dead bodies were cut into three pieces. The victims were identified as Ranbir Saharan, his wife Suman and their daughter Sumit.

The second daughter of the couple, Raveena had left earlier in the day with her maternal grandparents.

The motive behind the crime was not known yet as all the belongings in the house were found entact. The police has registered a case and begun investigation.
