Nationalist forces have prevailed in Amarnath decision:BJP
New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Welcoming the amicable settlement of the Amarnath land allotment between the Jammu and Kashmir government and the Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti, the BJP today said it was a victory of the nationalist forces who had ultimately proved a point over the separatist rivals.
''We are only sad that the government, which had cancelled the allotment of land under pressures and threats of separatists in one week, took two long months to arrive at a fair and just decision in favour of patriotic nationalists putting up a valiant struggle carrying the national flag,'' party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
''Even in the Kashmir valley, the common man was not against the decision and had the support of mainstream political parties. There was no religious or regional divide as sought to be projected in the media,'' he said.
Although this decision could have been taken without such delay, but it was 'better late than never', Mr Javadekar said.
''Things have been sorted out and we welcome it,'' he added.
