Lathicharge after mob pelts stones at police over case registering

New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Police resorted to a minor lathi-charge after a mob pelted stones over registrtion of a case against a motorcyclist whose vehicle hit a car in the Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi.

The incident took place around 2330 hrs last night when the motorcycle of Harpreet alias Monu hit the car at the Tilak Nagar red light, the police said.

While the driver of the car was thrashing Monu, Jagjit, who happened to pass by along with his family enquired the reason for the fight.

At this Monu got into an argument with Jagjit, even as the driver fled from the scene.

Later Jagjit called his relatives, numbering several dozen, who protested at the police station and pelted stones at the police demanding registering of a case against Monu.

They also sat on a 'dharna' to press for their demand.

Police later said the matter was 'sorted out' by both the parties involved.
