Kaushalaya Barrage to be a major tourist destination
Panchkula, Sep 1 (UNI) The barrage project on Kaushalya, a tributary of Ghaggar, near NH-22, promises to attract tourists with a massivelake to be developed for water sports and other tourism activities planned for the surrounding area.
With the process of land acquisition having begun for the barrage project, construction work on the project was set to roll soon.
HUDA is developing 32 sectors at the foothills of the Shivaliks with the hills as a picturesque backdrop. Residential, commercial, institutional and industrial zones have been planned in this master plan area, notified by Haryana government.
The self-sufficient city with economic activities to drive employment opportunities as well as entertainment, leisure and residential infrastructure.
The proposed Kaushalaya barrage is aimed to do away with the problem of scarce availability of drinking water in Panchkula and the region and to help various villages for irrigation.
New residential developers in the Kalka-Pinjore Urban Complex area will benefit from the availability of drinking water sourced from the Kaushalaya barrage.
Amongst the other various infrastructure and real estate developers in the area are companies like Amravati, DLF and foreign funds like IREO.
The largest of these projects is being developed by DLF with a 200-acre integrated township.
