CM-designate seeks people support to improve financial health in UT

Puducherry, Sep 1 (UNI) Chief Minister-designate V Vaithilingam today exhorted the public to provide utmost cooperation to the government to stablise the financial position of the Union Territory.

In a statment here, Mr Vaithilingam, who was elected as the Congress Legislature Party leader, urged the party cadre to cooperate in keeping up Puducherry culture during the swearing-in ceremony.

He thanked AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, party leaders and cadre who put their faith in him and elected him as the CLP leader.

Mr Vaithilingam said he would strive to implement all welfare schemes to ensure the development of the union territory.

Stating that putting banners and hoardings on the roadside and planting flags by digging roads would hurt Puducherry culture and cause inconvenience to the public, Mr Vaithilingam called upon the Congress cadre to refrain from such things and participate in the ceremony in a simple way.
