Britney Spears 'smitten' by Russell Brand

London, Sep 1 : Pop diva Britney Spears is reportedly smitten by British comedian Russell Brand, who will be hosting the upcoming MTV VMA's together.

The duo has already shocked the viewers in USA with their flirtatious TV commercial for the star-studded bash.

The advertisement sees Britney clasping Brand's leg, while Brand relishes her gesture.

As Britney clasps Russell's leg, he says: "Harder! A little bit harder!"

When Brit, 26, giggles: "No, I don't want to hurt you", Russell, 33, replies: "You won't hurt me, darling. I like it."

"The chemistry was amazing; they were flirting like a couple of teens," the Daily Star quoted an observer as saying.

"They have kept in touch and Brit's really looking forward to seeing him again for pre-show rehearsals," a pal of Britney's added. The 'Hit me baby one more time' hitmaker has adopted a fake English accent just as she did when she was dating paparazzi snapper Adnan Ghalib.

"She's adopted her own wacky English accent again, it used to be posh and she'd try to talk like the Queen," a pal said.
