Rajnath asks BJP CMs to extend help to Bihar flood victims

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today gave a call to the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states to extend every kind of relief assistance to help Bihar to tide over the unprecedented mammoth impact of floods in the state.

Calling up each of the BJP state CMs personally, the BJP president said the current situation caused by the Kosi river due to the breach in the upper reaches of Nepal as a ''national crisis that called for a national response''.

''Every state should extend a helping hand to the affected people of Bihar and the BJP-ruled states should be at the forefront,'' Mr Singh said.

Meanwhile, several districts of north Bihar continued to reel under floods caused by heavy rains and release of water from the Kosi barrage. The marooned people in areas of Madhepura, Madhumani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Vaishali, Saupaul, Araria and Saharsa districts were transported to safer areas and the villagers continued to flock to the relief camps for receiving every possible help and assistance from the authorities.
