Minister urges Centre to confer Bharat Ratna on Gangubai Hangal
Hubli, Aug 31 (UNI) Karnataka Wakfs Minister today urged the Union Government to award the Bharat Ratna to renowned Hindustani vocalist Gangubai Hangal for her contribution to music.
Talking to newspersons after visiting Ms Hangal at her house, he said the state government would recommend her name for prestigious the award.
Lauding the services rendered by Ms Hangal, he said her contribution to Hindustani music was simply great.
