MCD refreshment centres at Rly stations for flood-hit from Bihar

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) Pitching in relief efforts for those affected by the Bihar floods, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi today set up refreshment centres at the New and Old Delhi Railway stations and near ISBT at Kashmere Gate for flood-affected passengers coming in from Bihar.

MCD commissioner K S Mehra said the passengers from Bihar are being provided with eatables, tea, milk and potable water at these camps.

Till evening, nearly 1800 passengers have availed the services of these camps, Mehra said.

Further, the MCD has also set up relief material collection centre at its zonal offices and the Mayor's residence in Timarpur.

The Mayor Arti Mehra has appealed to citizens of Delhi to donate rice, pulses, water bottles and milk powder.

Ms Mehra said arrangements have been made to send the articles recieved to flood-affected people in Bihar through its administration.
