Srinagar, Aug 31 (UNI) Rejecting the agreement on Amarnath land issue between the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti (SASS) and the J &K government, Coordination Committee (CC), spearheading the present agitation in the Kashmir valley, said that peaceful protests and strike will continue.

''Though Amarnath land row was not an issue before the CC and our main goal was freedom, we outrightly reject the agreement between some people in Jammu, a press release issued by the CC, after a day-long meeting held at Hurriyat Conference (HC) headquarter under Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah, said this evening.

It appealed people to continue peaceful protest demonstrations tomorrow in the Kashmir valley.

The CC meeting, which was attended by all the constituents, asked people to observe complete strike from 1600 hrs for three days beginning Tuesday.

However, vehicles will continue to ply on all routs till 1700 hrs, the release said.

Programme for Friday will be announced later, it added.

At the meet, speakers condemned the security forces being there in large numbers. They also criticised the authorities for arresting their leaders.

The statement said the ''Lal Chowk chalo'' programme, which was actually to be held on August 25 when separatist leaders were arrested, still stands and the date will be announced later.

Expressing solidarity with the arrested leaders, the CC said they were concerned about the whereabouts of these leaders.
