BJP indulging in misinformation on unauth colobnies issue: Cong

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) Congress MP Sajjan Kumar today charged the BJP of indulging in a misinformation campaign on the issue of unauthorised colonies.

At a huge 'Mahapanchayat' (rally) organised at the Jantar Mantar here, Congress activists led by Mr Kumar, burnt in effigy the misinformation campaign by the BJP on the issue.

The mahapanchayat, attended by party MLAs Surender kumar, Mukesh Sharma, Vijay Lochav, Mahabal Misra, Balram Singh lochav, Malaram Gangwal and Anil Bharadwaj, leader of the opposition in the MCD Jaikishen Sharma and hundreds of party activists, asserted that in the coming Assembly polls in Delhi, the residents of the unauthorised colonies would vote in favour of the Congress in large number and bring it to power for a record third term.

Coming down on the BJP, Mr Sajjan Kumar said in the last 15 years, the BJP had been terming the citizens of unauthorised colonies as illegal whereas the Congress had taken a stand to regularise these colonies.

Now, the Congress Government has made suitable amendements in the 2021 Master plan to change the land use in unauthorised colonies from agricultural use to residential, Mr Kumar said.
