Youth commits suicide in hotel room

Puducherry, Aug 30 (UNI) A youth hailing from Pune was found dead in his hotel room, here today.

According to police, the youth locked himself inside the hotelroom where he was staying, yesterday afternoon. The hotel employees grew suspicious and informed the police, who broke open the door this afternoon and found the youth dead.

A poison and a soft drink bottle were found nearby, raising suspicion that he might have consumed the soft drink after lacing it with poison, police added.

The youth registered his name and address as Patil Sivaji from Pune when he checked in on August 22.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
