Speaking after inaugurating a one-day seminar on Panditha Ramadevi here, she said due to decentralisation of power through Panchayatiraj system, a large number of women were able to play an active role in various Panchayatiraj institutions.
She said nearly 1.2 million women, who were elected as members to Gram Panchayats in the country were playing an active role in various programmes like drinking water, nutritious food and sanitation.
