Curfew relaxed in Srinagar, other districts after peaceful prayer
Srinagar, Aug 29 (UNI) The authorities today relaxed curfew in almost all areas in Srinagar and other major towns of the valley following by and large peaceful Friday prayers.
An official spokesman said Friday prayers passed off peacefully in the valley.
He said curfew was relaxed for two hours from 1630 hrs in the areas falling under the 19 police stations of the city and its outskirts.
Similar relaxation in the curfew was given in other parts of the valley.
People were seen purchasing essential commodities. However, long queue could be seen outside the medical shops.
People alleged that despite tall claims by the government, most ration depots of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) remained closed even during the relaxation period.
