UABL enters India with Kolkata operation from September 24
Kolkata, Aug 28 (UNI) United Airways Bangladesh Ltd (UABL), a private airline of the neighbouring country, will enter India with its flight operations in Kolkata from September 24, UABL Director (Marketing and Sales) Jilanee F R Choudhury said today.
Announcing this here, Mr Choudhury said besides the Dhaka-Kolkata flight, seven flights in a week, the company was also planning to start flight operations from Chittagong-Kolkata, Dhaka-Kathmandu and other regional routes.
Mr Choudhury informed the UABL would start its operation with two Canadian aircraft equipped with the latest technologies and navigation facilities and it was also planning to add two more big jets for its international operations within the next five years.
"Our investment plans include highest priority to safety and security which will in return ensure safety to our passengers and maintain our schedules,'' Mr Choudhury observed.
Apart from Kolkata, he said, the company also had plans to expand its operations to other regions of India's metropolis- Mumbai, Chennai and Guwahati.
"By July 2009, it is also planning to expand its operations to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Bahrain and Dubai," he maintained.
