Prohibitory orders issued in city
Chandigarh, Aug 28 (UNI) District Magistrate R K Rao has issued prohibitory orders banning assembly of five or more persons, taking out processions, making speeches, raising slogans, holding of dharnas and carrying of 'lathis' within the sectors 1 to 12, Sector 26 and on the Janmarg stretch in the union territory for a period of 60 days.
The orders have been issued following apprehensions that such groups and organizations may cause obstruction, annoyance, or injury, to the persons lawfully employed and endanger human life and property, disturb public peace and tranquility and cause riots and affrays.
The orders would come into force with effect from the zero hour on August 30 and be effective upto October 28 next.
