CBI to search kidney kingpin's proprties abroad
Ambala, Aug 28 (UNI) The special CBI Magistrate Dr Abdul Majid today permitted the CBI to conduct search of the foreign properties of Dr Amit Kumar and other accused in the kidney scam.
The CBI had earlier sought court's permission to investigate into the moveable and immoveable properties in Canada being looked after by his wife Poonam and his son living with her in Canada.
The court also allowed to proceed further in investigating the properties of Dr Jiwan and Dr Upender in foreign countries especially in Canada.
The CBI also sought permission of the special court to have correspondence with the INTERPOL and Canadian embassy in this connection.
The court would hear the CBI with regard to investigation and sealing of properties in the country tomorrow.
The CBI had brought to the notice of the court that the accused Dr Amit, Jiwan and Upender had accumulated huge wealth and acquired properties worth crores of rupees in different parts of the country.
The CBI had already sought permission to seal these properties unless they made a bid to send it to abroad.
