BJP blames UPA for price hike
Tirupati, Aug 28 (UNI) BJP leader Bangaru Lakshman today alleged that the UPA government at the Centre was responsible for the price hike of essential commodities in the country.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the agriculture production in the country has again reduced to two-three per cent from the last year's 4.5 per cent, and this would lead to scarcity of foods in the coming days.
Alleging that the terrorist activities in the country were increasing under the UPA regime, he said the Centre had failed to take stringent action against various terrorist organisations.
Alleging that the Andhra Pradesh government has ignored Central government norms on allocation of agriculture land to SEZ in the state, he said the government was selling the land to private parties for making money for government expenditure, including salary to the government staff.
He said the BJP would contest elections alone in the state and the NDA alliance would continue at the Centre.
However, he said the party had not decided on alliance with the newly launched ''Praja Rajyam'' party by actor Chiranjeevi in Andhra Pradesh.
