Arrests in Kashmir ahead of a massive march

Srinagar/Jammu, Aug 25, 2008: Authorities in Kashmir valley on Monday placed some of the senior Hurriyat leaders under house arrest, while detaining several other leaders following their decision to go ahead with rally despite curfew in all the ten districts of the valley. Senior leader of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Yasin Malik was also arrested in order to prevent mass mobilization by the separatist.
