PTC India unit to acquire 26% stake in Ind-Barath power project

New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) PTC India Ltd today said its unit has inked an agreement for acquiring 26 per cent stake in a 189 MW thermal power project of Ind-Barath Powergencom Ltd.

The power project will be set up at Thoothukkudi District in Tamil Nadu, the company said in a statement without disclosing the financial details.

The subsidiary -- PTC India Financial Services Ltd-- which started operation in mid-2007, has taken stakes in a number of power projects across the country.

Earlier this month, it has picked up 26 per cent stake in Meenakshi Energy Pvt Ltd's 270 MW thermal power project, which will be set up at Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh.
