Haryana to stage shows to promote folk music
Chandigarh, Aug 27 (UNI) To promote Haryanvi folk music, various stage shows would be organised all over the country and abroad.
This was stated by Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Commissioner and Secretary, Information and Public Relations K K Khandelwal here today.
He was speaking as the chief guest on the concluding day of a ten-day workshop which was organised by the Haryana Information and Public Relations Department under the guidance of renowned music director J P Kaushik, in collaboration with NZCC, Allahabad and Punjab Art Council at Chandigarh.
Mr Khandelwal said this was the first attempt in the direction to preserve Haryanvi folk music heritage, which was on the verge of extinction.
He said these songs would be recorded and then various stage shows would be organised all over the country and abroad to promote Haryanvi folk music.
