Water tank seepage causes cracks in 100 houses

Sonipat, Aug 24 (UNI) Cracks have appeared in about hundred houses in local Kot Mohalla area of the town following seepage of water from an underground water tank constructed by the Public Health Department in the area for supply of drinking water.

More than half-a-dozen houses have been badly damaged.

The tank, constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, was not yet inaugurated.

After trials of filling the tank with water , authorities realised that there was seepage of water from the tank and deferred its inauguration.
