Rs 18 lakh robbed in Connaught Place

New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) In a daring board daylight robbery in the city's upmarket Connaught Place area here two unidentified men robbed an employee of a money exchange bureau of Rs 18 lakh.

According to sources, Ranjit Singh - a senior executive with a money exchange bureau in Connaught Place's outer circle - was stopped at the parking of Super Bazar by two armed men who later snatched is bag containing nearly Rs 18 lakh and his motorcycle.

They later fled on the same mobike.

Mr Singh, 28, who had gone to collect his mobike at Super Bazar parking at about 1300 hrs later informed his office which called the police.

He had to deliver the bag, containing currency from eight countries, to someone in South Delhi, the police said, adding that investigations were on.
