Pusa claims to win Lok Sabha seat
Kohima, Aug 25 (UNI) Newly appointed president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) KV Pusa today claimed he will win next Lok Sabha election as majority of the people still support Congress.
Addressing a press conference here Mr Pusa said although the party has 23 legislators in the 60 member Assembly it will not try to topple the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government rather the party will continue to provide constructive suggestions for the development of the state.
Replying to a query regarding DAN government, he said they should concentrate on improving the infrastructure of the state like roads which are in very bad shape.
He also criticized the state government for its failure in maintaining the law and order as the people were not safe even in their own homes.
'' Inter-factional clashes may be political problem, but killing of innocent civilians was definitely not'' he said adding it is the duty of the government to ensure safety and security of its people.
He also appealed all the sections of the society to shun violence and work for the development of the state.
NPCC vice-president Captain Hekiye Sema said that the party is totally committed for an early and lasting solution to the Naga problem.
Expressing concern over the growing rate of unemployment he described the youth as the productive and precious asset of the country.
