One killed, nine injured in jeep-canter collision

Karnal, Aug 25 (UNI) Nine persons were seriously injured while one of their companion was killed on the spot when their jeep collided with a canter near Gharaunda on NH-1 this morning.

All were travelling from Shimla to Delhi when the driver lost control of the vehicle which crossed the divider and collided with the Canter coming from the other side.

The deceased has been identified as Des Raj, 30, son of Narajmal of Shimla.

The injured have been admitted to the Trauma Centre here, the police said.

In another accident, Gayatri, 15, of Jhanjani village in the district died when a speeding car hit her cycle near Jhanjani chowk as she was on way to school in the morning.
