Karat accuses PM of selling courty's interests
Mumbai, Aug 25 (UNI) CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be known in history as the person who sold the country's interest.
Speaking at a public meeting, organised by the left parties here, Mr Karat, who was instrumental in withdrawing support to the UPA government, said the nuclear deal of the NSG draft, if accepted, will make the country slave of the US as the draft has been prepared by USA.
Maintaining the need for the formation of a non-Congress, non-BJP front, Mr Karat said on many occasions the policies of these two parties are more or less similar including the nuclear deal and various financial decisions.
He said that his party would always oppose any alliance with US, as it is dangerous.
He criticised the centre for concentrating more on nuclear deal and ignoring the Jammu and Kashmir situation which is affecting the unity of the country.
Mr Karat demanded that in place of several ration cards there should be one ration card for all, as the inflation is affecting everybody and the government has been unable to control it.
