Josh refutes Shabana's allegation of discrimination
Indore, Aug 25 (UNI) National Commission for Minorities member Harcharan Singh Josh today described as baseless the allegation of eminent actress and former Rajya Sabha member Shabana Azmi that minorities in India are subjected to discrimination.
''If that is the case then she should have informed the Commission by a letter or e-mail,'' he told UNI here while reacting to Ms Azmi's accusation that some actors including her had encountered difficulties in finding accommodation in Mumbai on account of belonging to the minorities.
Mr Josh was here to find out the factual position on recent communal violence.
''A report will be submitted to the Centre soon. A discussion will take place with the district administration to ascertain what became of the cases registered against police personnel during the violence. No case should be registered against an innocent,'' he said.
