Lucknow, Aug 25 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today sought assistance for the flood affected people in its five-points demand letter, which they handed over to the District Magistrates and Divisional Commissioners across Uttar Pradesh.

Senior CPI leader Ashok Mishra said the party has protested over acquisition of farmers' land and privatisation of some power projects in the letter that addressed Chief Minister Mayawati.

The CPI also asked for help to the flood-victims, early disposal of sugarcane farmers' dues and purchase of potatoes in the cold storage by the government at Rs 450 per quintal, he added.

The party would stage demonstration at district headquarters on September one over the same demands again, Mr Mishra informed.
