Cops suspended after locck-up suicide

Bhopal, Aug 25 (UNI) A station house officer (SHO) was among four personnel suspended after an accused committed suicide in the city's Sukhi Sewania Police Station, police said.

Bhadbhada area-resident Israel Khan (28), who stood charged in more than one case, hanged himself in the lock-up. He was arrested yesterday on a bailable warrant issued by the High Court.

Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad suspended SHO Ajay Rana, Assistant Sub-Inspector B D Mishra, Head Constable Hardev Singh and Constable Lalji Mishra.

The deceased's kin and friends raised anti-police slogans outside the police station and on the Hamidia Hospital premises.
