Hyderabad, Aug 25 (UNI) Ten children, suffering from 'chronic diseases,' have died allegedly due to non-availability of timely treatment at Nilofer Children Hospital in the last two days.
According to sources here, the victims, aged between one to five years, succumbed after ''they were not provided proper treatment and medicines when they were brought to hospital in critical condition.'' However, Hospital Superintendent Narasimha Rao told newspersons that at least five to ten children dying every day in the hospital, was common as they were brought to the hospital in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, irate parents and relatives of Shiva (5), who died while undergoing treatment, staged dharna in front of the hospital and demanded immediate suspension of the doctors responsible.
Police entered the scene when mild tension prevailed at the hospital and took the agitators into preventive custody.
