Usha Mittal College of Technical tops SNDT regional youth fest

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) The Usha Mittal College of Technology walked away with top honours in the Regional Level Youth Festival organised by the Department of Students Welfare for Mumbai region of SNDT women's university held on August 21-22.

The hosts SNDT College of Arts and SCB College of Commerce and Science had to be contend with the runner-up prize in the youth festival which had attracted 22 conducted and affiliated colleges of the SNDT University.

The festival included performing arts, Fine Arts and literary events showcasing a total of 27 competitions.

Dr B B Pradhan, principal of the host college in his welcome speech called upon the participants to inculcate discipline, tenacity and sincerity to emerge as successful citizens.

Dr M S Andhale, Joint Director - Higher Education, Mumbai region in his speech stressed upon the need of women's empowerment through women's education.

Dr Ms C Krishnamurthy, the Vice Chancellor of SNDT University also drew attention to the need of the hour that is to equip oneself with proper information and knowledge.

The youth festival provided a platform to the students to showcase the varied talents without being commercial in nature.
