Police urges to obey cease-fire norms in Nagaland
Kohima, Aug 23 (UNI) The Nagaland Police, concerned over the inter-factional clashes and lawlessness in various places of Nagaland, has appealed to all to abide by the Cease Fire Ground Rules (CFGR) as per the agreement with the Centre.
Deputy Inspector General (Hq) L L Doungel, in a press release, said the citizens should be aware that a cease-fire agreement was signed between the NSCNs and Union government of their own volition and the signatories had agreed to respect and abide by the CFGR.
He added that under the CFGR terms, the underground factions should remain in their respective designated camps, without moving around uniform-clad in the populated areas with arms or resorting to threat and intimidation.
However, the CFGR norms have been witnessing repeated violation, putting the lives of innocent civilians at risk.
Moreover, the underground factions had reportedly intimidated and threatened the lives of political leaders, police and civil administration officials.
