District administration gets tough on government employees

Varanasi, Aug 23 (UNI) Bringing the government employees to their workplace on time seems to have become a herculean task for the district administration here.

Divisional commissioner Suresh Chandra said eleven teams had been constituted for inspection work at a government organisations.

However, yesterday when the teams inspected 56 departments, 140 employees were found absent.

It was not the first time that the employees were found absent during the checking drive in the government departments.

The administration had demanded explanations from the missing employees, besides deducting a month's salary.

The team had inspected the departments between 1015 hrs to 1200 hrs yesterday and learnt that 140 people were missing from duty, officials sources said.
