Central team to visit flood-affected areas in Moga
Moga, Aug 23 (UNI) A five-member central team will visit flood-affected areas of Dharamkot in Moga district tomorrow to assess the damage caused by floods in Sutlej river.
Deputy Commissioner V K Meena said the team, headed by the Joint Secretary, Home, would also make an assessment of the damage due to breaches in the Dhussi bandh at two places near Madarpur and Bandala villages following heavy rains on August 15.
The team would be submitting its report to the Centre for relief package as per the norms meant for natural calamities.
The Punjab government had ealier appealed to the Centre for adequate compensation to the flood-affected people.
