Another person commits suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 23(UNI) A 45-year-old man committed suicide in the Kashmir valley where the trend of taking the extreme step has not shown any decline even after Muslims ulomas issued a fatwa against it.

Official sources today said one Mushtaq Ahmad Itoo consumed some poisonous substance in his Krangsoo Mattan house in Anantnag.

He was immediately rushed to hospital where he died.

At an average of two people, mostly woman, are commiting suicide everyday in the Kashmir valley despite fatwa by the ulomas, declaring it was against the teachings of Islam.
