Air Force equipped to face any challenge: Air Marshall

Guwahati, Aug 23 (UNI) Air Marshal, Eastern Air Command, S K Bhan today affirmed that the Indian Air Force (IAF) was well equipped to face any challenge from any quarter, including China.

''Work to upgrade Air Force bases' facilities is in progress across the Eastern Command and we are well placed to handle any situation,'' the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) told reporters here after a meeting with the Assam Governor at the Raj Bhawan.

On reports of China upgrading its air bases along the Indian border, he said it did not concern India as China was not transgressing into the country.

He maintained that there was no reason to apprehend any conflict along the Chinese border as there were no problems along the stretch.
