Parallel rallies proposed to be held at Karnal on August 30
Chandigarh, Aug 22 (UNI) In a bid to counter the efforts for the creation of a separate Shiromani Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee in Haryana, the Shiromani Akali Dal has opened an office at Karnal to conduct its proposed rally on August 30 in a successful manner.
The SAD had accused the Congress of trying to split the apex Sikh religious body, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, by setting up a separate panel in Haryana.
Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Secretary and Spokesman of the SAD, said that Mr Gurcharan Singh Channi, District President Urban Jalandhar City will regularly attend this office to coordinate all the matters in this regard.
He said that SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal, after consultation with senior leaders of the party, had assigned duties to top most leaders of the party for the purpose in various areas of Haryana.
Meanwhile, sikhs supporting the formation of separate SGPC in Haryana have announced to hold parallel public meeting on August 30 at Karnal.
